ARC, ARC, and Away!

All my unread unreviewed ARCS… not really but yeah.

As I mentioned in my update post, I’m participating in ARC August this year. I’m setting aside the month of August (along with other book bloggers and booktubers) to read only (or mostly) some of theadvanced readers copies that I’ve been accumulating and get some of that NetGalley feedback in.

I’ve been getting ARCs for a while now, but recently, since I started working at a library, I’ve been getting approved and requested like crazy. My pile of books to read and review is HUGE. So I’m definitely going to take of the ARC August reading challenge.

Here’s my highly ambitious ARC August TBR List

Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng

The Midnight Dance by Nikki Katz

The Best Kind of People by Zoe Whittall

The Belles by Dhonielle Clayton

The Hazel Wood by Melissa Albert

The Visitors by Catherine Burns

There you have it, my ambitious ARC August TBR!

I finished both Little Fires Everywhere and The Midnight Dance between the time I started this post and now… one was excellent, one was terrible. I’ll let you know which was which at the end of the month.

24 in 48 Readathon Kickoff!

Well it’s that time! Earlier this week I mentioned that I am participating in the #24in48 Readathon, where readers are challenged to read for 24 hours in a 48 hour period. I have never had my schedule line up in a way that made it possible for me to participate UNTIL NOW!

I’m at this very moment prepping and setting up for the readathon, getting cozy, finalizing my completely unrealistic reading list, charging up my devices and writing this little pre-readathon kickoff post!

Here’s how it’s going to go down: I’ll be microblogging throughout the marathon with mini updates, some will be thoughts about what I’m reading, whether or not I’ve finished anything, they might just be pictures… I don’t know what else, I’ve never done this before! There will be a wrap-up post sometime Monday or Tuesday. Everything will be tagged #24in48.

Full Disclosure, I’m not great at these types of things. I get bored or distracted by The Great British Baking Show or I feel tired and want to give up. But I am determined to give this one the old college try, because it seems like a manageable goal. But just in case that’s not enough to entice me, I promised to reward myself–because I’m THAT kind of person–by lifting my self-imposed book buying ban for one day and $35.00. But I only get the reward IF I complete the readathon.

Why am I telling you this? You’re here to keep me honest, be my witnesses!

Anyway, back to something more fun:

My COMPLETELY Unrealistic Reading List!

  1. Midnight at the Bright Ideas Bookstore by Matthew Sullivan
  2. A Million Junes by Emily Henry
  3. Universal Harvester by John Darnielle
  4. The Body in the Library by Agatha Christie
  5. Final Girls by “Riley Sager” *coughtoddrittercough*
  6. Step Back in Time by Ali McNamara

Do I believe I will finish ALL of these books? No, not even a little bit. But a girl’s got to give herself goals. Right?

Well, there you have it. My Kickoff post. I’ll be back at midnight CST with my first marathon post.

Have a great night, and to those who are participating: Happy Reading!
